Lucy, a single mum of three, was finding it increasingly difficult to keep up with everyday costs despite working full-time. While support from Universal Credit and Child Benefit helped cover some essentials, rising living costs meant that paying for rent, bills and household expenses was becoming more challenging.
After being signposted to Lightning Reach through the TSB banking app, Lucy applied for support through the platform. She received £1,000 in grants from a national teaching charity to help with essential costs, including food, furniture and appliances. She also received energy vouchers and heated blankets from the National Energy Foundation.
The support eased some of the financial pressure Lucy had been facing and helped her cover essential household costs. Knowing that help was available gave her reassurance during a difficult period and allowed her to focus more on her family. "It just made me feel more supported."
